Mexican bishops: “The real enemy is within the country”

The bishops of Mexico call for unity and co-responsibility to face the country's challenges, highlighting the need for dialogue and cooperation at a historic moment with the arrival of Claudia Sheinbaum to the Presidency.
They express concern about external pressures, but stress that the real enemy is within the country, in structural problems such as corruption, insecurity, poverty and the crisis in health and education, which have worsened over time.
They urge strengthening the rule of law, promoting economic development and rebuilding institutions.
Inspired by Pope Francis, they remind us that “unity prevails over conflict” and invite us to pray and act for a more just and fraternal Mexico.
